North-facing roofs are the ones that hold moss. They get less sun, so they stay damp for longer, and moss settles in and spreads. This large detached house in Kirkby had a north-facing roof that had built up a thick covering across the tiles.
The roof was worked from a scaffold tower rather than from the ground, using a rotary cleaning head on a telescopic pole. In the drone shot you can see the job part way through, with one section done and the rest still waiting.
A drone survey is carried out on every roof job so the whole roof and gutter line can be checked from above and the work planned properly. The gutters, fascias and soffits were cleaned as part of the same visit at no extra cost, and everything was rinsed down at the end.
The biocide treatment carries a two-year no-regrowth guarantee — which matters more than usual on a roof that faces north.
