How we quote, what we promise, what we need from you on the day, and what happens if something isn’t right. Written in plain English.
Who we are. This website is run by A1 Clean 4 You Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 14489594), whose registered office is 39 Ribble Avenue, Southport, PR9 8NA.
There are two parts to this page. Part A covers using this website. Part B covers the cleaning work itself — it applies once you book a job with us. Nothing here takes away your legal rights as a consumer.
Applies to anyone browsing a1clean4u.co.uk
Everything on this website — the words, the photographs, the drone footage, the layout and the logo — belongs to A1 Clean 4 You Limited or is used with permission.
You’re very welcome to read the site, print a page, or share a link with someone. What you may not do is copy our words or our photographs onto another website or into your own advertising. If you’d like to use something, just ask us — we’re usually happy to say yes.
Where we show a price — roof cleans from £495, driveways and patios from £195, gutters and fascias from £80 — that is a starting guide only, to give you a rough idea before you get in touch.
It is not an offer and it is not a quote. Every property is different, and the real price depends on size, pitch, access, surface and condition. Some of our services (conservatories, repointing and window cleaning) aren’t priced on the site at all, because they vary too much to be useful.
The only price that counts is the one we give you in person, in writing, after we’ve come out and looked at the job. That quote is free and you’re under no obligation.
We take real care to keep the information here correct and up to date, including our qualifications and the products we use. Even so, we can’t promise it’s complete or free of the odd mistake, and we may change it at any time. Nothing on this site is professional advice about your own property — if you want to know what your roof or driveway actually needs, ask us to come and look at it.
We link to a few other sites — our online booking system, our review pages, the biocide training register, and our sister site for interior cleaning. Those sites are run by other people. We don’t control them and we’re not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
We do our best to keep the site up, but we can’t guarantee it will always be available. It may be down for maintenance or for reasons outside our control, and we won’t be liable for that. If you can’t reach us online, please just call 01704 607750.
How we handle your personal information is set out separately in our Privacy & Data Protection notice. You can change your cookie choices at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
Applies once you book cleaning work with us
Your contract is with A1 Clean 4 You Limited, company number 14489594, registered office 39 Ribble Avenue, Southport, PR9 8NA. We are not registered for VAT, so there is no VAT to add — the price we quote is the price you pay.
Most of our work is for householders, and Part B is written with them in mind. We also work for businesses — shops, offices, pubs and restaurants, landlords, letting and managing agents. If you’re booking us as a business rather than as a consumer, everything below still applies, with these differences:
Everything else — how we quote, what we need on site, our guarantees, weather, complaints and photographs — works exactly the same way for you as for anyone else.
We come out and look at the job in person, free of charge, and give you a written quote. That quote stands for 30 days. After that we may need to look again, particularly if the weather has moved things on.
Our quote is an offer to do the work. There’s a contract between us once you accept it — by email, text, WhatsApp, through our booking system, or by telling us to go ahead — and we confirm a date with you. Until then, nothing is booked and you owe us nothing.
If we find something once we start that we genuinely couldn’t see when we quoted, we’ll stop and talk to you before doing anything extra. We will never carry out additional chargeable work without your agreement first.
Because we quote at your home rather than at business premises, you have a legal right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
You can cancel within 14 days of accepting our quote, without giving any reason, and pay nothing. Just tell us — a call, text, email or the form below all count. We’ll refund any money you’ve paid within 14 days of being told.
Most people don’t want to wait a fortnight, especially with good weather about. You can ask us to start straight away, but the law says you must ask us expressly, and you should understand what it means:
Request to start work within the 14-day cancellation period
“I would like A1 Clean 4 You Limited to begin work before the end of the 14-day cancellation period. I understand that if the work is finished within those 14 days I will lose my right to cancel, and that if I cancel part-way through I will pay a fair amount for the work already done.”
We’ll ask you to confirm that in writing — a text or email is fine. You still keep every other right you have, including the right to have poor work put right.
You don’t have to use this — any clear message will do — but it’s here if you’d prefer it.

I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the supply of the following service:
Service: .............................................................
Date ordered: .....................................................
Your name: ........................................................
Your address: .....................................................
Date: ..............................................................
So we can get on and do the job properly, we need:
If you’re not sure about any of these, tell us when we quote and we’ll work round it. It’s far easier to sort in advance than on the morning.
Before we arrive, please:
We’ll always treat your property with care. But if something is damaged because it wasn’t moved, or because a fault we weren’t told about gave way, that isn’t something we can be responsible for.
We’ll always tell you honestly what we think we can achieve before you book. It’s worth knowing:
We make a few promises on this website. Here is exactly what each one means.
If you’re not happy with the standard of our work, get in touch within 24 hours of us finishing. Tell us what your concerns are and how you’d like us to put it right, and send us photographs or as much supporting information as you can, so we can make sure your needs are met.
We’ll come back and correct it. If we still can’t get it to a standard you’re happy with, you don’t pay us for that part of the work.
The 24 hours is so we can see the work as we left it and put it right quickly — it is not a deadline on your legal rights. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected, and they last a great deal longer than a day.
Every roof clean finishes with a biocide treatment. If moss or algae return within two years of us cleaning your roof, we come back and re-treat it free of charge.
What it covers: regrowth on the roof area we cleaned and treated. What it doesn’t cover, and what would end it:
The guarantee is for you as our customer at that property, and covers re-treatment — not replacement of the roof or of anything on it.
Book a roof clean and your gutters, fascias, soffits and a patio rinse-down are included at no extra cost. They’re part of the roof clean, not separate free jobs — so they’re done on the same visit, at the same property, alongside the roof.
Book a driveway or patio clean at the same time as a roof clean and we’ll take 20% off the driveway or patio price. The discount applies to that one service, and it needs to be agreed at the time you book, not added afterwards.
Roof jobs include a drone survey at no charge. It is flown only with your consent, it happens on the day of the roof clean, and it depends on the weather — we won’t fly in conditions that aren’t safe or legal. The survey is to inspect the roof and plan the job. What we do with the photographs is set out in our privacy notice.
We come out and look at your job in person and quote you free of charge. There’s no charge and no obligation whether you go ahead or not.
This is outdoor work, and some of it is at height. We may need to move your date for rain, wind, frost, ice or anything else that would make the work unsafe or produce a poor result.
If that happens we’ll let you know as soon as we can and agree a new date with you. There’s no charge for a weather postponement, and you’re free to cancel and pay nothing if the new date doesn’t suit you.
We’ll also stop and talk to you if, once we’re there, we don’t think the job can be done safely or without risking damage. We’d always rather have that conversation than press on.
We understand things come up. Please just give us as much notice as you can and we’ll move you to another day, no problem.
Sometimes we travel out and can’t start — we can’t get access, there’s no water or power, cars haven’t been moved, or nobody’s home. Here’s how we handle that:
We won’t charge you at all where it plainly wasn’t your fault — an emergency at home, or something we could have flagged to you sooner.
Payment is due on completion of the work, on receipt of our invoice, by bank transfer. Our details are on the invoice. We don’t take card or bank details through this website.
There’s no VAT to add. For larger jobs we may ask for a deposit, and if so we’ll agree that with you in writing before we start.
If an invoice is still unpaid 14 days after its date, we may charge interest at 4% a year above the Bank of England base rate, running daily from the due date until it’s paid. We’d always rather ring you than charge interest — if there’s a problem with paying, tell us and we’ll sort something out.
We are fully insured for the work we carry out.
If you think we’ve damaged something, tell us as soon as you notice it, and in any event within 7 days of our visit. Please send photographs if you can. Prompt notice matters — it lets us come and look while it’s clear what happened, and it’s what our insurer expects.
Please give us the chance to inspect it before anyone else repairs it. If someone else puts it right first, we may not be able to help. As above, this doesn’t take away your legal rights.
If we do something wrong, we’re responsible for putting right the loss or damage that follows from it in the ordinary way. What we’re not responsible for is loss that couldn’t reasonably have been expected, or anything caused by:
Except where we’ve been negligent, the most we’ll be liable for on a job is the price of that job.
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Nothing here affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — work must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time, and for a reasonable price. If it isn’t, you’re entitled to have it put right, and to a price reduction if we can’t. Those rights sit above anything on this page.
Please tell us first, and please tell us early. Ring 01704 607750, or email info@a1clean4u.co.uk, and give us as much detail and as many photographs as you can.
We’ll acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days and give you a full response, in writing if you’d like one, within 14 days. If we need longer to look into it properly we’ll tell you why and when to expect an answer. Most things are sorted out with a phone call and a return visit.
We take before-and-after photographs of our work, including from the drone, so we can plan and complete the job and show the standard of our work.
We’ll ask you first before using any photograph of your property on our website, in advertising or on social media, and we’ll never publish anything that identifies your address. If you’d rather we didn’t, just say so — it makes no difference to the job or the price — and you can change your mind later and ask us to take a photograph down. There’s more detail in our privacy notice.
Your work is carried out by us. Occasionally we may bring in a specialist for part of a job, and where we do, they will never be on site without us being present.
Whoever does the work, your contract is with A1 Clean 4 You Limited and we remain responsible to you for all of it. You never have to chase anybody else.
If we spot something outside what we do — a roofing repair, say — we may put you in touch with a local tradesman we rate. That would be a separate arrangement directly between you and them, and we’re not responsible for their work.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will deal with any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your own country.
If any part of this page turns out not to be enforceable, the rest of it still stands. If we don’t insist on something straight away, that doesn’t mean we’ve given up the right to later on.
We may update this page from time to time. The terms that apply to your job are the ones on this page on the day you accepted our quote. Any changes will appear here with a new “last updated” date.
